David Missal, born in 1993, grew up in a quiet German town, not far from the Dutch border. During high school, he started his journalistic career at the student newspaper, where he wrote about canteen food and school politics. Later on, David began to work as a freelance journalist for two local newspaper outlets in his hometown. He covered annually carnival sessions as well as meetings of the city council. After graduating from high school, David left the German idyll – and went to university, for getting a degree in Chinese studies. During his uni time, he lived in Nanjing, Beijing, and Berlin. Following graduation, David went back to Greater China to further improve his professional skills during his graduate studies. At the moment he is taking a master’s program in Journalism at The University of Hong Kong.
